Jo is a Research Fellow in the Fundamental Care theme in the NIHR CLAHRC Wessex team. She joined CLAHRC in January 2016, having receiving her Doctorate from the Sociology department at the University of Surrey. Her ESRC-funded PhD research explored the role of online support and information among parents of people with a rare syndrome. Jo has tutored undergraduates in qualitative and quantitative research methods, provided external training on qualitative interviewing and analysis, and evaluated health projects and initiatives within the NHS and local government. Jo's research interests are in health and health inequalities, the evaluation of health initiatives, patient-professional relationships, medical sociology, digital health, the Internet, and the use of mixed and online research methods.
