Dr Greta Westwood

Director of Training, NIHR CLAHRC Wessex and Chair of the PHT Clinical Outcomes Group.

Dr Greta Westwood has a PhD in Nursing and a clinical background in NHS clinical genetics. She qualified as a nurse in 1983 and a midwife in 1987 completing an MSc in Health Psychology in 1996. In 1987 Dr Westwood moved to the Wessex Clinical Genetics Service, where she held a joint Clinical Academic post with the University of Southampton whilst completing my PhD. In 2008 she moved to research management, initially as the Lead Research Management and Governance Manager for the NIHR Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Comprehensive Local Research Network (CLRN). In 2012 she became a Florence Nightingale Leadership Scholar.

Her current research involves understanding the impact of effective recovery pathways for alcohol dependent patients across the life course and the demographics of the alcohol dependent population. She is the Director or Training, NIHR CLARHC Wessex and Chair of the PHT Clinical Outcomes Group.
